The Project

TRIP OFF THE TONGUE!

Developing the communicative competence in real contexts is necessary nowadays. As the students will be working with students from other countries, they will be obliged to use the languages they are learning so that they can understand each other and communicate. This will enhance their motivation to learn and improve their linguistic skills. We, as teachers want to share  experiences and learn from the strategies and methodological resources used by the colleagues in the other countries in order to improve our practice.
The main objective is to improve the students´ communicative competence while they  know other European teenagers, their culture, their way of life, their interests and  problems, so that they  become aware of all the things that they have in common,. Then, they will be able to value and appreciate their differences, blurring the localisms and stereotypes. This will help them  understand that they are part of a large community, Europe. An improvement in their linguistic skills will mean progress in all subjects, since the  language is the key to access knowledge. Their professional prospects will be enhanced by the fact that they will be achieving a better communicative competence. If  they open their minds and they expand their horizons, their academic and professional chances will be higher.
The teachers will  try to make their students assimilate the foreign languages and acquire a level of competence in them that is good enough to use them in a natural and spontaneous way. To achieve this, they will carry out activities related to their life experiences, knowledge, etc.
